NASAA Connect – Terms of Use
NASAA Connect is a service provided to NASAA members as an online medium to ask questions and share knowledge within the professional community. Opinions and views expressed within NASAA Connect are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of NASAA or its members. This platform is exclusively for NASAA and its members. You should not publicly mention its existence or forward copies of information that you have obtained from it to third parties. However, please be advised that communications within NASAA Connect could be subject to your or another jurisdiction’s public/open records laws. It is your responsibility to review and understand whether and how your jurisdiction’s public/open records laws might apply to posts that you create, review, or receive (i.e., via email), or discussions in which you participate. As such, we recommend that you do not share confidential or sensitive information in NASAA Connect Groups or Discussions. By using NASAA Connect, you acknowledge that information that you post could be subject to disclosure under your or another jurisdiction’s public/open records laws and you accept that risk.
Please do:
- use the Groups and Discussions to share knowledge and build working relationships with your colleagues in other jurisdictions;
- include your name and affiliation in postings;
- be polite and respectful in your posts and replies;
- keep it clean (i.e., no profanity or obscenity);
- give credit where credit is due by citing your sources;
- search before posting a question, as it may have been answered already; and
- report illegal or inappropriate postings you find within a community to contact@nasaa.org or (202) 737-0900.
Please do not:
- share confidential or sensitive information;
- post defamatory, abusive, threatening, offensive or illegal materials - don't post anything you don't want the public to see;
- post promotional messages (e.g., products/services, job postings, firm/business acquisitions, programs not affiliated with NASAA or its members);
- post unnecessary messages to the whole group; instead, send appreciative notes directly to the sender rather than posting to the whole group; or
- send angry, critical, sarcastic or emotionally charged messages.
- NASAA will:
- create new forums as requested when there is sufficient interest by members;
- monitor forum postings and respond to user complaints about specific postings;
- remove a posting if it violates these terms;
- remove a member from a forum who continues to violate these terms after receiving a warning; and
- occasionally display, copy, publish and distribute information posted within the forums for the purposes of marketing and encouraging member usage.
NASAA will not:
- edit postings;
- pay for postings to NASAA Connect; or
- review postings for technical accuracy.
